Owner: Edward Jenkins and Daniel Masters
Edward Charles Jenkins has grown his business, Street Snacks Inc., from very modest beginnings. He began by cooking small batches of food at his home and sold them to customers from his bicycle. Edward persevered and now owns a high-end, converted van with his company name artfully displayed.
He has a loyal following of regular customers that use him for deliveries during the day, and has found an especially successful niche selling hot chicken and ribs to patrons of downtown San Jose bars and clubs in the evening hours every night of the week.
Edward brought on Daniel Masters, a man with a natural propensity for salesmanship and organizational skills. Together they are expanding Street Snacks' customer base and moving the food preparation to a space at Willow Glen Bar and Grill for immediate access to a prime customer base, while making outside deliveries and catering faster, safer, and more streamlined.
Along with funding through Lenders for Community Development, Nor-Cal FDC helped Edward develop his business by providing him with a 100% loan guaranty.
